Laptop HP Pavilion dv6t Review

Improved design, Beats audio, new USB 3.0 ports, an HD Webcam, fingerprint sensor, a variety of configurations ranging from budget to high-end, and second-gen Core i-series processors are all part of the HP Pavilion dv6t's design makeover. The Pavilion dv6t comes with an Onyx black color lid which is very attractive and provides a sleek look. The lid has a subtle mesh inlaid design and a glossy finish which is appealing to look at but a fingerprint magnet (HP mercifully provides a fiber cloth to clean the lid). The keyboard area has a silver metallic finish and is also slightly glossy in nature, though not to the extent that it will pick up fingerprints. The display area of the dv6t is again black and glossy like the lid.

Build and Design
The Alienware M17x has a ‘stealth’ design. In looks and feel this machine is quite unique. It is constructed of high-quality aluminum so build quality is good. The M17x is available in 3 colors – Black, silver and red. While the aluminum offers good build quality, it isn’t without its share of disadvantages. All the metal used in the construction adds up to over 13 pounds. The m17x is actually one of the heaviest notebooks in the market.

A distinct feature of this notebook is its fully customizable LED lighting system called AlienFX which allows users to create lighting themes to suit every occasion. Another design element that needs to be mentioned is the screw-less design of this notebook – there are no visible screws on M17x.

Screen and Speakers
The edge to edge display is covered by a large piece of glass. The M17x is available in two resolutions - WXGA+ (1440x900) and WUXGA (1920x1200). The display has an aspect ratio of 16: 10.

The display is OK. It has dual lighting lamps, but it isn’t particularly bright or vivid. Horizontal viewing angles are good; vertical viewing angles are average. The backlighting isn’t very even because some areas appear brighter than others.
There are two full-range speakers beneath the palm rest. The speakers produce very good quality audio. The m17x comes with several audio output options including two headphone jacks, HDMI, and surround sound out.

Keyboard and Touchpad
The backlit keyboard is full-sized. It comes with a dedicated number pad. The keyboard is comfortable to use. The touchpad has a textured matte finish. It can be used with both dry and damp fingers. The touchpad is automatically switched off when you plug in an external mouse.

Ports and Features
There are two video output options. With HDMI you can connect to external HDTVs and with Display Port you can connect to monitors that support that feature.

Other features include VGA, Ethernet, 4x USB, e-SATA, IEEE 1394 mini Firewire, ExpressCard/54 slot, memory card reader, slot-loading Blu-ray drive, headphone, surround sound center speakers, surround sound rear speakers and microphone.

Laptop Lenovo Thinkpad L520 review

Lenovo has launched a new notebook in its Thinkpad series of notebooks, Lenovo Thinkpad L520. Lenovo Thinkpad L520 is a 15.6-inch business notebook is.

Inside the L520 is a brand new Intel Core i5-2540M processor running at 2.6GHz. It's seriously fast and only the Core i7s of Samsung's RF711 and Apple's MacBook Pro are noticeably quicker. Essentially, it's capable of running pretty much anything you can throw at it.

The L520 isn't designed for playing games, though. It relies on the Core i5's integrated graphics chip, which is capable of decoding HD video but not running the latest games. In any case, the 15.6in screen has a matt finish to cut down on glare from overhead lighting - perfect for office environments, but not as impressive when watching a movie with the lights down.

Laptop ASUS K53E Review

The ASUS K53E is latest thin yet powerful 15.6-inch multimedia and general purpose consumer notebook. It features the latest Intel "Sandy Bridge" processors and a large 640GB hard drive. Keep reading to find out more.

The latest Intel processors are really fast and they can easily do any task that you can throw at it. The speed has been drastically improved as compared to the last year models. One thing missing here on the Asus K53E-B1 is a dedicated graphic card. This system has Intel integrated graphics. I played Unreal Tournament III and got 43.7 fps or frames per second. Street Fighter IV fared 28.2 fps. This isn’t great for high end and new PC games but will still go well with casual gamers.

When put through my battery drain test, the Asus K53E-B1 survived for a little over four and half hours and this is good for a 15 incher. For this size, I have a minimum benchmark of three hours and was glad to see that this laptop went past that limit. Credit must be given to the new efficient processors from Intel; they have performed very impressively in a lot of 2011 laptops that I have tested so far.

Another interesting feature on the Asus K53E-B1 is that the manufacturer is offering a two year warranty and there is also a one year accidental damage protection. Other companies just give you one year for service and parts and you need to pay more money for additional coverage if you want. Asus also has a 24-7 toll free number and on the manufacturer’s Website, you will find driver downloads and support info. But be wary of the fact that there are a lot of Asus laptops out there and hence it can be hard to track down content for your model.

ASUS K53E-B1 review unit has the following specifications:

* 15.6-inch 720p (1366x768) glossy panel with LED backlighting
* Intel "Sandy Bridge" Core i5-2410M dual-core processor (2.3GHz~2.9GHz Turbo Boost, 3MB L3, 35W TDP)
* Intel HM65 chipset
* Integrated Intel HD graphics
* 6GB DDR3-1333 dual-channel RAM (1x 4GB, 1x 2GB)
* 640GB 5400RPM Seagate hard drive (ST9640423AS)
* Atheros AR9285 Wireless network adapter
* DVD burner (MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ8A0ASW)
* 6-cell li-ion battery (10.8V, 52Wh, 5600mAh)
* Weight: 5.72 lbs.
* Dimensions: 15.2 x 1.4 x 10.2 inches
* Two-year warranty

Phone HTC Legend Review

HTC Legend of high quality mobile phones, more slender with AMOLED display and coupled with the brilliant metal layer, forms a beautiful and stylish. HTC Legend will make you believe in yourself and give a more lively content. The phone is great for a minimalist style other than the shape of this phone also features a nice features including an online library of widgets, and many more features that can help you.

HTC Legend is, as a result, a lot a lot more aesthetically engaging than HTC Desire, prime smartphone Android of the Taiwanese producer. Yet, appropriate from your Legend Desire picks up some hardware solutions, including the optical stick. I proceed to choose the “wheel” used by other devices (Google Nexus One, for instance), however the input technique does incredibly well his work, showing by itself sufficiently correct and reliable.

The aluminum physique along with the sophisticated search for the Legend was a prerequisite for differentiating the smartphone from other equivalent goods.

High Tech Computer need to have invested a great deal to prepare a creation line that will permit the assembly of a terminal monocoque.

But when the results will reward the effort is certainly genuine to anticipate that lots of potential devices is going to be made with comparable traits.

If HTC Legend stands out and excels in style and construct quality it is not the exact same thing with regard to efficiency. The unit has an common CPU performance, certainly not as fast as that adopted in Desire.

The differences in between the two devices just isn’t especially obvious in ordinary use, except sometimes lags when your phone module is energetic (but look at the phone module can be a hard nut for the Android working technique as for other platforms).

As a substitute, HTC Legend suffers frommore evidence for your Qualcomm MSM7227 CPU clock charge, equal to “only” 600 MHz, when is utilized the Internet browser.

Within this part the Legend is among the most efficient devices in the globe, thanks towards the Android Eclair Web browser, but sometimes the HTML client suffers from overweight Internet pages.

HTC Legend has attained excellent results within the tests of wireless interfaces: each the phone module, the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth have emerged with high marks from empirical testing.

In specific, the Wi-Fi is able to becoming coupled to a wireless router at a distance of about 10 meters, with two walls to act as a barrier. So on this review, the most beautiful device of the High Tech Personal computer variety is nicely value selling.

In MP3 reproduction the device seems well, but has not so high volume. So we warned those who listen to MP3s in city visitors. Sufficiently high the volume distributed from the speakers, equivalent using the Desire.

Seriously excellent the performances with the video clip player.

We performed a check by converting the trailer Avatar from HD 720p AVI to MP4 with a resolution of 1280 x 534 pixels, therefore quite close towards the original high definition.

HTC Legend can lend by itself as being a satellite navigation system. We checked the GPS receiver, also strolling: it is as appropriate for use in location-based services as a genuine navigation solution.

The satellites are hooked rapidly, even in challenging scenarios and when the sight from the sky is partially obstructed.

Good values of autonomy in laboratory tests. The battery seems able to sustaining HTC Legend for a entire day of operate and fun. The credit goes needless to say to the CPU clock price which clearly is designed for a protracted use.

Legend is one of those HTC smartphones that ought to not be concealed. The phone is designed to convey a feeling of solidity, of invoice above-average.

Luckily, these qualities aren’t evident only to who holds the HTC Legend in his hands, but additionally to those who are near.

So Legend can be a HTC gadget to indicate with ease, and why not, having a hint of complacency. Sure, the efficiency is not so very good, but who is ideal?

Phone Sony Xperia X10 Review

The Xperia X10 is perhaps the most promising of Sony Ericsson's crop of modern smartphones, combining attractive hardware with killer specs, Android, and an intriguing custom skin.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is the first Android device of the manufacturer and the operating system itself has been causing quite a stir in the cell phone world in the last year. The handset comes with downright monstrous hardware features and as of today, there is simply no other cell phone based on the same platform to rival the X10 and we hardly need to say anything other than “4-inch screen, 1GHz Snapdragon processor and 8.1-megapixel camera”, although Timescape and Mediascape add a truly unique touch to the interface personalization.

The Xperia X10 features a 4 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 854. This is not a cell phone you can use with one hand. Fortunately, the back is slightly curved and the X10 fits well in hand. The weight is properly balanced, meaning the cell phone is not overly hefty and discomforting to carry around in your pocket, although you will be aware of its presence at all times.

You get 1GB of storage built in and it also comes with an 8GB microSD card as standard. Other features include an accelerometer and a proximity sensor, Bluetooth 2.1 and support for HSDPA and HSUPA connectivity.

The Nokia C3 is equipped with 2 megapixel camera with a Flash, which captures images at aresolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels. The camera interface is same as other Nokia phones. The camerafeatures Autofocus, self timer, 4x zoom, full screen viewfinder, white balance, color tones andviewfinder effects includes greyscale, sepia and negative. It can record videos at a resolution 320 x 240pixel.

The Nokia C3 is officially made to support the 8GB microSDHC. It is also expected that the handsetwould be able to support even the 32GB microSDHC. Overall this phone is therefore an excellentproduction from the Nokia family. Sleek phone combining the ease of touch with a keypad.

Blackberry Storm 3 Review

Blackberry Storm 3 review - A new series of BlackBerry, namely Blackberry 3 Storm was released as a follow up to the Torch 9800, which had a slide out keyboard and touch-screen capabilities. The Storm brought Blackberry fully into the touch-screen market. After the Storm came the Storm 2, with fuller features and more memory and the Storm 3 is said to have even more memory, as well as an upgraded camera.

The BlackBerry Storm 3 will be a world edition smartphone that can be utilized across a range of networks. They will retain 802.11 Wi-Fi technology, which will allow users to surf the web wherever a hotspot exists. The Storm 3 will likely employ 4G capabilities, something that its predecessors the Storm and Storm 2 have not done. Both of the previous models are 3G compatible only.
There may also be a chance that the new Storm 3 will function as a mobile hotspot, allowing other devices to connect to it and obtain Internet access.

The Storm 3 will likely offer an upgraded camera in a 5 mega-pixel version. There is also talk that this camera may actually be as powerful as an 8 mega-pixel version. About the weight and size will be about the same as the Storm 2 with its 3.25” touch-screen, but there are rumors suggesting that the new Storm 3 will utilize a larger 3.7” screen.

Blackberry OS 6.0 may remain the standard operating system for the Storm units and the Torch, but there are suggestions that a Blackberry OS 7.0 may be introduced. Whatever the operating system no alternative operating systems will likely be offered for these phones. The OS will be customized to fit the specific features of the Storm units. A native webkit from Research in Motion will likely be utilized in the Storm 3, which is considered one of the best editions of web enabling software.

Other undocumented specifications that have surfaced:

* Memory: 8 or 16 GB storage w/ optional expandable to 32GB, 512 MB or 1GHz RAM, 1 GB ROM
* Display: 3.7-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors
* Camera: 5MP, 2592×1944 pixels or 8 MP, 3264×2448 pixels, fixed focus, dual-LED flash
* GPRS: Class 32
* Optical trackpad
* Ringtones: MP3, WAV ringtones
* MP3: MP3/WAV/eAAC+/WMA player, MP4/H.264/H.263/WMV player
* Bluetooth: Yes, v3.0 with A2DP
* 3G: HSDPA, 10.2 Mbps; HSUPA, 2 Mbps

* Talktime: Up to 432 h (2G) / Up to 480 h (3G)
* Standby: Up to 9 h (2G) / Up to 5 h (3G)

So, when it the Blackberry Storm 3 going to be released? Well, as you know or may not know, its release was canceled because Verizon felt that the Blackberry Storm 3 was too close to Storm 2 version; such that it couldn't be considered an upgrade to make the Verizon Blackberry lineup. But there are rumors that despite this cancellation, its release is set to the first quarter of 2011. It seems also, that this is supported by BestBuy which has the 9750 RIM Blackberry Storm 3 on their website. So, look for it to come to your local retail stores soon.

Laptop Sony Vaio Y Review

The team at Sony has completely reinvented the VAIO Y notebook with some help from AMD. The new Sony VAIO Y (technically called the "VAIO YB") is Sony's first laptop to feature the new AMD E-350 processor and graphics. This 11-inch laptop is more expensive than a typical netbook but offers significantly better performance. If you need an lightweight travel laptop with enough power for multimedia fun this might be the netbook alternative for you.

laptop processor war here at CES with AMD's new Fusion APUs and Intel's fresh Sandybridge CPUs gunning for core territory, but Sony's not pickin' sides when it comes to its new seriously mobile VAIOs. Kicking it off on the lower end is the 11.6-inch, 3.2-pound VAIO YB Series, which is being refreshed with AMD's Brazos E350 APU. Sony doesn't consider the YB to be a netbook -- in fact, it doesn't plan to continue with its netbook line after this quarter -- but like most of these other Fusion systems (see: HP dm1 and Acer AO 522) the Y promises long battery life along with really solid graphics. Actually, according to the product manager, the platform has been out performing Intel's Pentium processors. The system will be available with Windows 7 Home Premium, 320GB or 500GB hard drives, and 4GB of RAM -- as you would expect, the $549 base configuration only gets 2GB of RAM and 320GB of storage. The Intel-powered YA Series will still be available with a Core i5 processor option for close to $750. (Note: We got some hands-on time with the YB Series before it was released, check out the hands-on here.) So, what does Sony have in store on the more powerful ultraportable end? The 13.3-inch VAIO S series is a four-pound Core i3-powered ultraportable clad in a durable magnesium casing. It doesn't seem to be configurable with discrete graphics, but it will have WiDi. That enough for ya? Hit the break for the press releases if you're looking for more.

The stats aren’t bad. It’s got an i3-380 (unlike, say, the MacBook Air’s Core 2 Duo) running at 1.33GHz, anywhere from 2GB to 8GB of memory, and storage of 320GB. I suppose you’d want an SSD these days, but that probably depends on how you’re going to use the laptop. Oh, and the display is 1366×768.

Laptop Dell Latitude 2120 Review

Dell is launching a new Latitude 2120 netbook at CES. This 2120 has the same specs that previously 2110 had but its computing power is more of the single core Intel Atom N470, chipset used in its predecessor was dual core N550. But this new device has the highly upgraded processor with an optional Broadcom Crystal HD video accelerator.

The 2120 at first glance looks like something out of a toy catalog – it's thick, block-like, and blue. My first impression was, "There's no way Dell is serious with this design." But they are, and the kid-friendly design fits with the education market, so let's take a closer look.

The blue exterior is actually a rubber coating; it has an inlaid square pattern and feels soft yet durable. It extends to the underside of the machine as well, save for the battery. As a computer intended for business use, this might not have been the best color choice though. The 2120 is constructed out of high-strength ABS plastic. The matte black plastic has a slightly granular texture and is quite solid. Keeping in tradition with business notebooks, there is no glossy plastic used on the exterior.

The overall build quality is excellent. None of the plastics flex under pressure. The display resists twisting well yet could use more protection from the back; I was able to produce some ripples by pressing on the back. The display hinges are strong and do not allow the display to wobble back and forth.

Dell Latitude 2120 review unit has the following specifications:

* 10.1-inch display with anti-glare coating (1024x600 resolution)
* Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit
* Intel Atom N550 dual-core processor (2.0GHz, 512k cache, 533MHz FSB)
* Integrated Intel GMA 3150 graphics
* 2GB DDR2 RAM
* 250GB 5400RPM Western Digital hard drive (WD2500BEVT)
* Dell Wireless 1520 802.11n wireless LAN
* No internal Bluetooth
* No internal optical drive
* 6-cell extended battery (11.1V, 56Wh)
* 1-year limited warranty
* Weight: 3.1 lbs.
* Dimensions: 10.43 x 0.89-1.57 x 7.36 inches
* MSRP: $608 (starting price: $414)

Laptop Lenovo ThinkPad X220

The Lenovo ThinkPad W520 is Lenovo's upgrade to the W510 mobile workstation notebook. This 15.6-inch notebook is powered by up to an Intel Core i7-2920XM processor and equipped with up to a discrete NVIDIA Quadro 2000M GPU, switchable to Intel HD integrated graphics. Like last year’s model, the full HD (FHD) displays on the 1920 x 1080 resolution models have a 95% color gamut and a huey PRO color calibration system application. At the time of writing this review Lenovo has not yet announced if there will be an upcoming multi-touch screen option like last year or not.

In this review we will measure the ThinkPad W520 up with other workstations in its class by putting every specific detail of it to the test. Read on to find out if this is the laptop for you.

ThinkPad workstations have always been known to be top-of-the-line, updated systems in terms of performance, FHD display, build quality, battery and power consumption, and carry a host of features such as the Fingerprint Reader, nice upgrade options, and a great port selection. This workstation is expected to live up to those who have high ThinkPad standards and expectations.

From the looks of it, the outer build of the W520 is about the same as the previous generation workstation model, the W510. Lenovo stuck with the same ultra sturdy hinges, still evenly built width-wise due to a build fix to the older models. The hinge and display cover are so well-built that it takes a good amount of force to even tilt the screen back or forward (which is reassuring of course). The palm rest and keyboard are both extremely tough as well—showing no flex when typing regularly and only a minimal amount of flex when trying to press down extremely hard.

Some minor outer design changes include the newly-added Lenovo company label on the front of the screen casing, new carbon fiber mixed with the glass fiber onto the display cover (no more reinforced plastic), and the absence of paint over the glass fiber/reinforced plastic on the base. On that note, some consumers may find that the finish on the base and display cover to be disconcerting because it easily collects dust, grease, and fingerprints. In short, the finish may prove to be high maintenance throughout the daily usage of the notebook. Even though most black-colored notebooks will seem to show dust more often just because of the color, this laptop seems to carry grease from the fingers more so than most other business notebooks I’ve had the pleasure of using.

Lenovo made the bottom upgrade panels and keyboard easy to remove, for the most part, and labeled each screw spot appropriately. For example, if you’ve had even just a little bit of experience with upgrading notebooks you will most likely know right away which screws to remove to get to the RAM under the keyboard due to Lenovo’s icons. The bottom of the workstation provides simple access to the first two memory slots and another simple access panel for the hard drive. There is one screw you’ll have to remove to get to the hard drive and two screws to remove to reach the bottom RAM panel (and two to open up the keyboard). The wireless card under the keyboard should not take very long to locate and remove if you’re looking to swap it out. One other thing I’d like to mention is that the W520 has a potential capacity of up to 32GB of RAM, but for now you will only be able to upgrade to 16GB at the time of purchase.

Lenovo ThinkPad W520 Specifications:

* 15.6-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) LED backlit display, 95% color gamut, matte, 16:9 ratio
* Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (64-bit)
* Intel Core i7-2920XM quad-core CPU (2.50GHz, 8MB cache), Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 (3.50GHz)

The ThinkPad W520 sports the same traditional black ThinkPad aesthetic we've come to expect over the years. Underneath a soft-touch raven black lid, you'll find a typical all-black ThinkPad deck with a light blue Enter key on an otherwise black keyboard. The bright red TrackPoint that sits between the G and H keys on the keyboard makes the boldest statement on this minimalist design. However, the green lights that illuminate the power, volume up/down, and microphone mute buttons are a welcome touch.

At 14.7 x 9.7 x 1.4 inches and 6.2 pounds, the ThinkPad W520 isn't the thinnest or lightest 15.6-inch notebook on the market, but, considering the notebooks' heavy duty components, it's surprisingly portable. In fact, the W520 is the same weight and only a little bit larger than the 14-inch Dell Latitude E6420 when equipped with a nine-cell battery (13.9 x 10.25 x 1.25 inches, 6.2 pounds). We had absolutely no problem carrying the W520 around the office or toting it across town in our bag. Our biggest complaint was the 1.4-pound power brick, which noticeably added to our load.
